BREAKING PROTOCOL![]()

“What I Did Not Know About You keeps You Alive”
Flipping through Facebook, I found a friend whose son tragically died recently. In order to get more information I googled his name. Then I thought to myself “I wonder what I would find if I googled Rachel’s name?” Sure enough, she popped right up. Of course there were the obituary listings with photos of a life no longer on earth and write ups about those who had passed from this life during Covid but then I saw it—something I don’t believe I have ever seen before. My heart lept inside my chest when I saw what appeared to be my daughter‘s Pinterest account.
Hesitantly, I clicked on the link. Although the “pins” were not many, I was given a glimpse into part of my Rachel I had not known before-what she thought about. I was able to glance through things that she thought of: hairstyles she would like to try, things that she thought were just “so cute,” the directions for crafting with Mason jars, and of course air fryer recipes.
Out of all of the ”pins,” there was one I really recognized-the Madon jar crafts. One day, either Mothers Day or my birthday, I was given the sweetest gift: a pink painted mason jar with a stenciled out section for Abigail’s picture to show through and artificial flowers poking out the top. I will cherish this forever along with the other things that now I know my daughter thought about.
Proverbs 4:23 tells us “ Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” I have to admit that I recognize one or two of the hairstyles I saw on Rachel’s Pinterest account as well. It looks like at least a few things she she thought of did indeed come to pass! I will have to check out some of the air fryer recipes Rachel intended to try and maybe even a hairstyle or two.Thank you God for allowing me to have memories, for allowing me the mind of Christ to discern them, and to be able to enjoy them. ![]()
